Pac-12 Rankings 1/3/16

Opening week of conference play has come and went. The Bruins choked their opening weekend, while the Wildcats welcomed Bobby Hurley into the desert rivalry. Here's the rankings after opening weekend.

1] Arizona Wildcats: 13-1, 1-0
The Wildcats continue on with their strong play, and are the lone ranked team from the Pac-12 conference, coming in at #7. Gabe York lead the way for Sean Miller's side with 22 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists en route to a 94-82 victory in Tempe over the Sun Devils. A trip to Southern California is on the docket.

2] California Golden Bears: 12-3, 2-0
Hosting the solid Buffaloes and the Utes wasn't an easy task for the Golden Bears, but if they were phased, they didn't show it, sweeping the Rocky Mountain schools. Matthews' 22 points helped the Bears to a 79-65 victory over Colorado, while Ivan Rabb matched Jakob Poeltl for a 71-58 win over, then, #21 Utah. A trip to Oregon is up next.

3] Washington Huskies: 10-4, 2-0
Expected by many to be one of the worst in the conference, the Huskies are coming off an impressive sweep of the Southern California schools, both of which were hard earned victories. It took two overtimes to hold off the UCLA Bruins, while a 22 point deficit against the Trojans was erased. Don't expect UDub to remain in the top five for the remainder of the year, but one can't argue the start. A game against rival Wazzou is up next.

4] USC Trojans: 12-3, 1-1
As a Bruin fan, it pains me to put the Trojans ahead of UCLA, let alone, in the top five, but they have earned it. Despite allowing the Huskies to come back from being down 22, USC has put together a solid out of conference schedule and has the Arizona schools up next. An upset over the Wildcats would be huge.

5] Oregon State Beavers: 10-2, 1-0
A win over Oregon was a good way to start Pac-12 play for the Beavs, momentum they need to keep as they host the Northern California schools this coming week.

6] Colorado Buffaloes
7] Stanford Cardinal
8] Oregon Ducks
9] Washington State Cougars
10] Utah Utes
11] Arizona State Sun Devils
12] UCLA Bruins
