Damian Lillard is the talk of the moment when it comes to being snubbed out of the 2015 NBA All-Star game, but there is one man who deserved the spot more, and got snubbed as well, and that is one Monta Ellis. The 10-year veteran guard has never had an opportunity to play during the glorified exhibition game, being one of the best players in the history of the association yet to appear, alongside Marcus Camby, Mike Bibby, Cedric Maxwell, Rod Strickland and even a Lamar Odom.
Putting up a solid 20.4 points to go with 4.6 asissts and 1.8 steals, Ellis is shooting a solid 46.3% from the field and receiving only four trips to the free throw line to pad his point total. The trade for Rajon Rondo hasn't worked out the way Ellis, Dirk Nowitzki nor Mark Cuban have hoped, as the Mavericks have faltered to the sixth seed in the stacked Western Conference, and best believe, without Ellis, the squad would be lower in the pecking order.
Considering the guards that made it ahead of Ellis include, names like, Chris Paul, Stephen Curry, Russell Westbrook, James Harden and Klay Thompson, to call Ellis a full on snub might be going too far. However, saying he deserves it more than Damian Lillard did, is spot on.
