Hayes (Front) Boxing out new team-mate Josh Smith (Left)
Though it isn't a guaranteed contract, the Los Angeles Clippers have brought in Hayes to a training camp invite, with a high possibility of making the 15-man roster for the 2015-16 campaign, which is full of championship aspirations. Hayes may be undersized for the power forward and center positions, standing in at 6 foot 6, his motor and lower body strength allows for him to hold his own against most of the post players in the association. He also was arguably the worst match-up for Clipper forward, Blake Griffin, in years past.
High motor, teamed with a great mindset, Hayes will be a valuable asset to the locker room, assuming he makes the roster over Liam McMorrow, a training camp invite. With 16 on the training camp roster, Rivers can still invite four more players before cutting the roster down to 15. Hayes' spot, however, should be pretty secure. The Clippers bench includes some questionable attitudes with Smith, Lance Stephenson and the possibility of Jamal Crawford showing disdain due to cut playing time.
